Doctor to Doctor

We promote the health and wellness of underserved communities by building relationships between healthcare professionals across borders.

The Doctor to Doctor Project was established out of the idea that education is at the core of healing. By educating and supporting local doctors, dentists, nurses and other healthcare professionals in resource-limited communities, Mission Equip strives to leave a lasting impact not only on the healthcare infrastructure, but also on the community it serves.

Our Vision

Establishing International Partnerships

As opportunities arise, we’ll introduce American volunteer healthcare professionals with established, under-resourced healthcare facilities in marginalized communities throughout the world to collaborate and form a lasting partnership.

Impacting Lives
Through Mentorship

The goal of the Doctor to Doctor Project is to provide professional training and mentoring to local healthcare personnel. While we won’t provide direct medical and dental care, the partnerships we’ll create will be sustainable and will have an indirect, yet long-term impact on the communities they serve.

Planning for
the Future

Doctor to Doctor was founded in Belize with the help of the strong relationships built by the Teacher to Teacher Project. We hope to build on that progress by using our working model as a pilot program in other developing nations.

Who We Help

Doctors

Doctor to Doctor’s goal is to connect and build relationships between allied health professionals through collaboration across borders. We work with volunteers from all facets of medicine, enabling us to make a lasting difference on the overall health and well-being of the communities we serve. By sharing knowledge in clinical and formal lecture settings, our volunteers provide the education that’s vital to building sustainable outcomes for healthcare systems, all the while learning from local medical professionals about culturally sensitive care.

Patients

There’s an undeniable link between education and the overall health of a community. If someone isn’t familiar in how a disease spreads, they’re more likely to get that disease, and if a child is experiencing dental pain, they aren’t as likely to concentrate and learn in school. With the health of a community impacting the education of its members, and the education of the community affecting the health of those members, Doctor to Doctor is working to help fix this never-ending cycle. By educating local medical professionals, we ultimately help their patients—because when their minds and bodies are healthy, the whole community thrives.

  • Enables our mission to encourage teachers and healthcare providers to grow their professional abilities and strengths, rather than just providing it for them.

  • Directly improves the lives of students and patients in critical need by allowing their teachers and healthcare providers to offer cutting edge techniques and care.
